    Hi
A little confused as to what settings to use.
Have been given some HDV footage to edit.(Never used it before)
I am using FCP and the HDV 1080i sequence setting seems to work well (No render bars)
It is the viewing output settings that are confusing.
    Best I can find are BM HDTV 1080i 25 with a size of 1920 x 1080
    The footage is 1440 x 1080 PAL
I think the extreme card is in the mac.

Are these settings going to introduce distortion?
Is this the best set up to monitor HDV?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Use the easy setup that matches the format of your HDV clip.

For example, if it’s 1080i59.94, use “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 – HDV”. This will configure the project properly. Create a new sequence after this as easy setups don’t affect existing sequences. HDV outputs at full resolution 1920×1080.

Not sure if your card is SD or HD but if it’s an SD version, it will automatically output as down converted SD video. To switch between anamorphic and letterbox down conversion, you can go into the DeckLink Preferences located in OS X’s System Preferences.

    regards
