    Thanks for the help guys.

    I think I was looking for more (quality) than was there. Sometimes you get really engrossed in something and just want it to be perfect!

    I feel confident that I am doing the right thing now.

    I can suggest a few things that will make it better. Firstly don’t capture HDV to AIC. Either stay native HDV or convert to ProRes on capture. I know it is probably too late for that but AIC requires transcoding and it isn’t as good as ProRes for that task.

    Secondly the SD timeline should be uncompressed not DV. If you don’t have the drive speed for uncompressed SD then an SD ProRes sequence is next best.

    Hi Brendan,
    As Michael says, forget about DV.
    You need to export to a better codec. The minimum would be DV50, but better if you go to 8/10b Uncompress or Proress. You will see the difference.
