HDV 1080 50i into Pal sequence, which HDV codec?
Hi.
I have read an awfull lot about this, trying to figure this out on my own.. But no luck.
My setup is as follows:
– Dual 2.8 Quad Core Intel
– 4gb memory
– Lacie external drives through FW800.
– Sony HDV Deck (Sony HVR M15E or the Sony HVR 1500)What I need to do is to be able to capture HDV material in HDV quality or greater, and use it in an DV/Pal sequence.
Most of people have said “use ProRes”, but the problem is that this project needs to be able to batch up later on..
And that will be a problem using ProRes, won’t it?Can someone please recommend what to do?

Log and capture to HDV 1080i50 then use media manager to recompress to Pro-res.
