HDTV Photo Slide show comp / render settings?
Greetings, I’m new to After Effects and am attempting to do a high quality photo slideshow. I’ve watch some of the tutorials on the subject here on the cow but have a slightly different end goal. I have a large 73″ HD TV which I wish to use for client viewing of the slideshows at the best possible resolution / presentation. I like the flexibilty of After Effects for the presentation but am wondering what would be appropriate for the comp settings / source image resize.
So I assumed I wanted the project to be an HDV or HDTV comp, sized the images out of Aperture to 1440×1080 which it in turn created a 1440 by ~960 images from the original high res images.
As I don’t have a easy method of getting them to the HDTV short of printing to tape and connecting the deck to the unit I’m playing with and XBox 360 using Connect 360 software on the Mac to serve up the content. (One of the requirements is to convert the file to WMV for the Xbox 360 to receive it).
This is creating huge files and killer render times on my dual G5 2.7. Wondering if there is a better way? What project type should I be building and settings for render that would yield good results? I exported the movie out and it was strugling to even play correcting off my FW800 external drive (unless I goofed the movie which I guess I’ll find out shortly once the conversion is done and I try to stream it to the Xbox.
