Hoping someone can help me. I’m trying to figure out how much space I need per hour of HDSR dual link 444 on a raid before I buy the raid but the aja data rate calculator doesn’t list this setting. Am I to use the 1080i 10-bit RGB? Isn’t that still 4 2 2? Thanks in advance guys.

    Sean,

    Here you go 🙂

10bit RGB 4:4:4 is Dual link and not to be confused with 10bit 4:2:2.

    Cheers,
    Ramona

    Hi sean,

4:2:2 and 4:4:4 RGB is different formats and 4:4:4 take more space and need faster RAID sets. I provide You rough bitrates and 1 hour capacity for this formats:

    4:2:2 8-bit 30fps
    124.4MB/s, 1 hour – 449GB

    4:2:2 10 bit 30fps
    155.5MB/s, 1 hour – 560GB

    4:4:4 10 bit 30fps
    233.3MB/s, 1 hour – 840GB

    best regards
