Linda,
For audio use a Rane audio delay box which allows you to input millsecond delay values. I believe the unit I use all the time is a AD22.
Anyway you can rent them cheaply at any major audio or high end HD video facility.
The unit has two audio channels input and output.
You will need to consult with the maker of the downconverter to ask how long the video delay time value is to set the correct millsecond time value in the Rane audio delay box.
One last note I have to disagree with the posters who choose to make it the audio guy’s responsibility to figure this one out. Working as a team both the DIT/video engineer and soundman can work together to solve a common problem for the client which results in making the job go smoother and easier for all members of the production team.
