    You can use external Firewire drives, like the G-Raid 2 or LaCie options…they come in very large sizes now…500GB to 2TB. And they all use the newer SATA drives. If you are talking eSATA (external SATA Raids) then there are several options. CalDigit, MacGurus, Sonnet, Firmtek, Weibetech. I myself use CalDigit eSATA drives, with all the footage backed up onto another set of drives. But others have used Burly Boxes from MacGurus and enjoy them, and the 500P from Sonnet…
