Yes, you need a monitor with HDMI. You can use your HDMI out on the camera directly into the monitor.

The downside is the monitor feed isn’t full 1080p

    Hi,
I have a LED Monitor which has a HDMI input facility now. I would like to use it as a Field Monitor for my Canon 5D Mark II camera for my next short film project.

Could anybody help me by suggesting how could I make it portable? Actually I want to know how could I make a portable power system for the monitor?

    Here is the Monitor details:
BENQ V2220H LED Monitor (BenQ V2220H)

It has an AC Adapter ( Input: 100-240V-1A, 50-6-Hz, Output: 12V=3A 36W MAX)

    Regards
