  • HDMI In on Mac Mini / FCPX?

    Hi,

Does the HDMI on the mac mini function as an input?

Can I see it in FCPX and input / import footage this way like the oldschool log and capture we used to do with tape over firewire?

    Thanks!

HDMI on MacMini, like most computers, is output only.
To get video in you’d want to use one of the many HDMI to Thunderbolt video input devices.
There is no old school log and capture in FCPX. Given most cameras are file based you can bring in files and, in some cases, parts of files.
