HDLink only showing current frame
Hi guys,
I’m experiencing a strange problem and need your help. It’s probably a setting I misconfigured.
I’m cutting a video in DVCPROHD 720/24p and I’m running a Mac Pro with a Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme and an HDLink to my 2nd 23″ Apple Cinema HD Display. When I hit play in Final Cut Pro my HDLink does not display the running footage – only the last frame that I stopped on. Show all frames is on in FCP.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this and get the video to playback properly through my HDLink?

Hi Kristian,
After reading your reply to my post I checked which easy setup I was using in FCP. That was indeed the problem. I now have selected the Blackmagic HDTV 720p 23.98 VariCam – DVCPRO HD easy setup. My video now plays back properly through my HDLink and onto my Apple Cinema HD Display.
Thanks for leading me in the right direction.
One final question for you. Since I had the wrong easy setup when I imported my P2 clips into FCP, do I have to re-import them now that I have changed the easy setup?

I don’t think it’s necessary to reimport your P2 clips. The easy setups should not have any bearing on P2 ingestion. However, if you’ve captured them via the DeckLink card, then you might want to check the properties in the Final Cut Pro browser window to make sure they are want you expect.
