    Hi

Just wondered if anyone had any preferences / horror stories / good reasons why an Apple 23″ cinema dispay is better or worse than the Dell 2405 LCD display particuarly when paired with an HDlink / HD Decklink Pro, G5, FCP5 setup.

Looking to purchase one or the other this week and whilst the Dell is

    Hi,

I would go for the cinemadisplay. I am working with both and the viewing angle of the Dell comes nowhere near the viewing angle of the cinemadisplay.

The Dell has a much higher contrast ratio though, 1000:1 over the cinema displays 400:1. This would surely mean blacker blacks and better depth on HD playouts through the HDlink or am I wrong?

I run dual Dell 2405’s and the viewing angle doesn’t worry me at all. Plus they are cheaper and have loads of interfaces. Dell also offer a return with no questions asked within 15 days if you don’t like it.

I love my Dell 2405 and would not trade it for a cinema display for free! 🙂
