I’m working on a project that is in Quicktime, and I need to output it to DVCPro HD & MiniDV using Final Cut Pro. I have a Panasonic DVC Pro HD (HD1200A) deck & a Sony MiniDV deck ready for it, but I was wondering what would I need to exactly due to transfer it to DVCPro HD & miniDV (step by step, settings and all for each one), so I can have the best quality for it?

I will only be using firewire cable to hook up my Final Cut Pro to the DVCpro HD deck & the miniDV deck…

    Thanks in Advance…

    Hi John

You would need to put your footage into DVCProHD and DV timelines to achieve this via firewire.

The simplest way is to use the relevant ‘Easy Setups’ in FCP and dropping the completed quicktime into newly created timelines for each setup – assuming you have the same framerate.

If you originated this in HD, you will have to decide if you want to output the DV version letterboxed or anamorphic – set up the new DV sequence accordingly, and change the aspect/scale setttings of the quicktime clip as needed.
