Our client has shot some footage using HDCAM SR in 4:4:4 SQ mode. He wants to put together a simple reel by consolidating all of the beauty shots using our Final Cut Pro HD. We succesfully ingested the video at Uncompressed 10-bit RGB, but we heard rumors that FCP is not capable to rendering any of the effects and transitions in 10-bit RGB, only 8-bit. Does anyone know this to be true?
We thought of exporting the video in Uncompressed 10-bit RGB and create the necessary effect in After Effects and bring the completed sequence back into the FCP timeline for layoff.
Can anyone suggest a better workflow? What about Microcosm codec?

    Thanks

10bit RGB? Do you mean RGB32? or 10bit YUV?
