  • HDCAM SR 12 channel outputting

I am trying to output to Hdcam SR with audio on channels 1,2,3,4 11 and 12. Channels 1-4 get there but 11 & 12 will not go to 11 & 12. I can get them to 5 & 6 with no trouble. Audio output settings on the time line are correct. It just doesn’t want to seem to record on 11 & 12.

I have never output more than 8 channels to sr however, so this is new to me but do not think there should be any issues? Any Ideas would be appreciated……Thanks,

are there 12 channels on the deck? I don’t have SR, just plain old vanilla HDCAM. Never looked for or noticed more than 8 and the Kona card only has 8 audio I/O at least for the AES audio. I’m always using the embedded SDI audio feed so I’m not sure how many there really are. I know the HDV shows up with 16 on my system.

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

How are you connected to the SR deck? What capture card? Do you have all of your audio mapped properly? In the SEQUENCE>SETTINGS did you click on the AUDIO SETTINGS tab and set the output to 12 channels? Did you then map each audio track on the timeline to the CH you wanted to output to?

Are you connected via SDI? AES?

I output 12 channels via my Kona 3, and NOW I can with my MXO2…

I am connected SDI, Via Black Magic….I found a work around Very Wierd, If I output in insert mode it will do up to 8 channels on the output but if I assemble then 11 & 12 output as well….I had 12 channels selected in the timeline settings with each channels mapped to the appropriate channel on the deck it just didn’t work in insert edit mode but it did in assemble….strange but I got it to work….Thanks

    Chris,

most single link HDSDI cards only support 8 channels of embedded audio.
