HDCAM SD capture settings
Im using a HDW-1800 HDCAM deck to capture some SD footage. The deck has a built in down converter, and i am able to hook it up to my Aja Io via composite connection. I am able to see video when i start logging but the motion is very blurred, just wondering if anyone knows the correct video setting to have on my final cut and the deck.
The settings im using currently are:
Sequence Preset: Uncompressed 10-bit NTSC 48 KHz
Capture preset: AJA Io: Composite 10-bit NTSC US 48 kHz -

The HDW 1800 has a downconvertor to SDI. I presume you are actually capturing HD footage, but wanting the SD downconvert, or do you have an HDCam that plays digi beta?
Either way, the SDI outputs to Kona SDI inputs are the best way to capture. Also the issue may be the field dominance setings. Check the menu in the HDW1800 to make sure your field dominance output matches your capture settings. In PAL this is easy because it is all upper, but NTSC might be swapping dominance from HD to SD

I have a deck that can play digibeta, and im actually trying to capture the SD footage, im only needing to encode it to make DVD’s of the program, ty for the suggestions though gonna go see if that helps
