HDCAM newbie ?’s
I am currently running a dual 2.5 ,with 2gb ram , GeForce FX 5200, SCSI Medea 300gb array, Kona SD Card. I have recently been approached to cut some trailers show in hdcam. The client will provide the footage captured from a final cut system on an external fw 800 drive. I have yet to dip into the HD market so is there anywhere I can read to get up to date on teh HD worlflow. Will my current system handle this edit. The specifics are still a little vaque about output format. From what I have read so far, in order to view the HD output I need some sort of output device (Aja-Model HDP

Your Kona SD card will not work with HD footage. You will need either the LH or Kona 2. Also, is your SCSI array a single channel or dual channel? If it’s Single Channel it probably won’t work for HD.
