Did anyone do this before? It’s just that there’s no FCP (or Blackmagic) preset for 25 progressive. Someone told me just to use the 1080 i50 preset and then switch field rendering of in FCP, but i can’t seem to find that particular button 😉 Any suggestions on good settings?

    Hi Peter,

This question comes up semi-regularly so we’ve answered it in the support note Does DeckLink HD support HDTV1080p/25 in Final Cut Pro?.

Your HDCAM tape is actually 25psf (Progressive Segmented Frame) and is 25p transported using 50i.

Use the the 25Hz setting and change the field dominance to NONE, so any renders are frame not field based.
