Yes, we’ve done a good amount of 24p to 25p as well as 25p to 24p. What are you trying to do. A little more info would be good, in order for us to help you.

    best regards,

The film is scanned to 24P, and are needed to be up-conversed to 25P for broadcast purpose. I know that there has been some problem where the conversion just play slower, so there afterwards are a sync problem, but that was before Cinematools ver. 3.1.1 , which on the paper looks better.

How had You made the conversion from 24P to 25P ?

Will it be better to edit in 24P, and first at the end made the up-conversion ?

We are thinking of using a Kona3 card, but do You have any recommendations ?

    Per
the simple solution since you are working in FCP is to complete the project and make self contained QT file, and a AIFF audio file of the same content and then use CT to do the conform ONLY the video file from 24 to 25.

if the 1% audio is an issue ( it should be)
create a 25p project and import the 25p file and the AIFF audio file.
place the Video file into FCP and then Delete the Audio from the video ( or make the video without audio)
add the AIFF audio file to the project.

Edit to tape Via the KONA 3 card (just as Walter and I do) and your final tape will have 25fps with correct audio- no renders and only a few minutes extra.

What technique do you use to take a 1080 25P (not PSF) sequence to 23.98?

    David
FYI if it was recorded in-camera it is always PSF

The fastest way to do this is a 25-24 conform in Cinema Tools then re-attach the original audio to the conformed clip.

Thanks. The 25p is artificially created–not in the camera.
