More and more we’re finishing in After Effects.
    (Yeah yeah yeah… she’s slow… but…)

It is essential that we can see our LUMA levels in real time.

A swell Tektronix or Magni HD waveform monitor costs as much as a car.

    So…

For those of you using a Blackmagic HD Pro or HD extreme
(or any card that outputs YUV analog HD)…

My little “Ebay special” Hitachi V-079 triggers just fine on HD 30kHz tri-level sync, and provides a reliable LUMA display.

I seem to remember it cost about $50, including shipping.

(we also have a several Magni SD WF monitors that will NOT sync to HD, and will soon be going to the landfill)

This is NOT rocket science… just LUMA level.
Plain and simple. Volts is volts is volts.

So… you need to pinch that top & tuck that bottom?
    Sure you do.

This is a terrific display solution for next to nothing.
