    Hi,

Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. Me and my colleague have recently shot a short film in which he has edited using (Windows) Premiere Pro CS4. I am due to colour grade it using (Mac) After Effects/FCP and this is sort of a test as we have to meet up anyway. Is the truest way to export this between our systems exporting on his system as an AVI? Will FCP allow me to import an AVI? It was shot in full 1080 HD too so we must bear in mind transferring files over 4gb onto FAT32 hard drives.

Let me know if anybody can offer some suggestions.

    Regards,

    Barney

P.S. The current scene were testing is 9gb. He may be able to let me use an external hard drive from work for me to borrow.

With appropriate software, you can use NTFS on Mac, or HFS on Windows drives. No 4 GB limit.
AVI, like Quicktime, is just a wrapper for the data inside. Uncompressed AVI is (duh) lossless. So are the PNG and Animation codecs in Quicktime. What is the native format of the files? That is often the flavor to use.
