i have a HD footage shot in Canon 5D, when down scaling it to SD i got some flicking when the camera moves.

im using quick time conversion to down scale the footage, tried every possible option, but still have the same problem.

when i play the quick time file using quicktime player it looks fine, but when i import it to FCP i get the problem.

Dos you convert it to Prores? Or it’s H.264?

i did try 8 bits uncompressed, none, pro res (all), upper, off fields, played arround with the time line settings, but all the same

in the past i had same problem, what i did is render the project as 1080i then render it back to SD, but that is too much render for long projects.

Try compressor. Use an SD format preset. Search here for tips on how to use compressor to get desired results. You will need to tweak frame controls settings for frame resizing.
