I work with Avid Media Composer at work and I’m finding it difficult finding the correct export setting for this project. Just trying put about a 40 minute B-roll sequence that was shot in HD with a P2 camera 1080-60i onto a SD-DVD. I want to keep the aspect ratio and letterbox it. Every export seemed to be either stretched and/or poor quality. Can I do this with DVD one step? We have Sorenson Squeeze as well if this is a good work around. This is a new work flow for me and any help would be appreciated.

A client of ours has had problems getting Avid DVD to recognize 16×9 ref movies using the One Step process. If you have Sorenson I would export a reference movie of the video track. In Avid’s export settings send it out at full (1920×1080) resolution and 16×9. Do your transcode in Sorenson (use one of the NTSC 16×9 presets) then import the resulting movie into Avid DVD.
