    hey guys
I’ve been working on a EXDCAM 25p 1080 project, which most of the B Roll in it is photos, the film is done, it has lots of photos and lots of archive footage (not great quality), subtitles are in and it is ready to be sent to online, the thing is that the director is considering converting to SD, since the DVD is going SD and not blue ray, and the client is expecting an SD movie.
does that means that I will have to redo all the photos pan and scan work (that was all done manually by setting key frames and resizing)all over again?
I created a SD sequence and dropped a HD clip into it and clicked not to change the setting but the video looked bad and it had the preview green line! does that mean I will have to render in order to watch my movie in good quality?

what would you suggest to do?

    many thanks in advance

I would finish in HD and then convert to SD using hardware conversion. That way you have the master as HD (Tape or Quicktime file) for the future

This can be achieved with Kona cards or at a facility with devices like a Teranex. Have them make a digibeta tape or Quicktime file in SD and then make the DVD from that.

Getting FCP to change to an SD sequence requires rendering and doesn’t look as good as hardware conversion. Many here are happy using Compressor to make an SD quicktime from the HD sequence. A search will reveal a lot of opinion on this as it is a very frequent question.
