I need a quick and more effecient way of outputting HDV material without having to wait for the ghastly render process.
Using a AVID LIQUID CHROME HD system I did invest in a Miranda HD SDI TO Analog Component convertor that gives me the ability to monitor my output on an HD monitor.I am now thinking of using the same signal as a realtime output back to an HDV recorder..

Does any one know of a Bidirectional convertor that would convert my HD SDI signal and out put it as HDV stream through Firewire?

    thanks

    https://www.convergent-design.com/CD_Products_HDConnectLE.htm

and Convergent Design has a user forum on Creative Cow. Pretty cool, huh?
Now, what do you give me ?

Wow, I get to correct the great Bob Zelin!

The HD Connect LE is ONLY from HDV to HD-SDI, not the other way around, as Faryar would like. Right now the only way to record anything to HDV is via rendering from a PC/MAC. Perhaps NAB will bring us a solution for this.

Juan is correct, and I am wrong (so much for me being great !).
I foolishly ASSUMED that the Convergent Design is bi-directional.

look for the new 15 and 25 Sony HDV VTR’s at NAB.
