I’m still trying to come up with the best work flow for shooting in Hi Def and encoding to DVD. I have been shooting 30p and when it gets encoded to mpg 2 I notice in some areas, like eye balls, I see some aliasing “twinkling” in there. Perhaps that is detail that SD cannot handle? Next time I might try shooting 60i.

I always shoot and deliver in 60i and I’m very happy with my HDV to DVD results.

[Andy Howard] “Can anyone tell me how I can set the camcorder (sony hdr-sr11) to record in 60i?”

I’m pretty certain that the Sony HDR-SR11 only shoots 60i so there is no way that it will NOT shoot 60i. (i.e., there is nothing for you to do but press the record button)

    Thanks for the reply John,

So when you say you always shoot and deliver in 60i, what settings do you use in Sony Vegas to deliver a dvd in 60i.
Do you select the dvd architect widescreen preset render format?

Yes, I use the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream for video and then render the audio separately as Dolby Digital AC3.
