HD Timelines to SD
Hi All, I’ve been given the task to conform a 16X9 HD (DVCPRO HD) to SD 4×3 (720X486) for BetaSP mastering. I’m waiting to hear from the network if letterbox is acceptable to fit the HD to SD timeline. If you have a chance, can you outline the most direct way to:
A: get a letterboxed SD 4X3version of my HD timeline.
B: get a centerpunched SD 4×3 version of my HD timeline.

Do you have a Kona card? You can do both of these options with just a few clicks in real time.

Yes, they have a Kona 2 or AJA IO.

Just open the AJA control panel and downconvert the component output to SD. Then choose if you want it to letterbox or crop the 16×9 image. It will work great.

This can be easily done with a Kona 2.
Look here for direction and write back with any questions…replace anywhere I said LHe with Kona 2

The Kona 2 can do this in realtime. You set up either Letterbox or Center Cut in the AJA Control Panel.
