  HD solutions for my 24p Project

  I am well into working in a 24p feature project on AVID Adrenaline. There is just one concern that has recently come about. I received a box of 50+ tapes shot on a JVC-HD100. I have heard that there is no way for me to Digitize this footage except for with the camera that it was shot with-which is NOT going to happen. The solution the producers have come up with – is to digitize this HD footage using Lumiere HD and then export – either QTs or back out to Tape (if it will retain 24p) through Final Cut – I have never used Lumiere before, and I am a bit apprehensive about all of the tranferring from FCP back to Avid / Mac to PC. Is there anyone out there that has encountered something like this? What would be your advice as far as clip lengths and codecs in making QTs and importing back to Avid – since I would rather not wait too painstakenly long to import and render. Or is this even the best way to go about this? Theres not enough budget to get the tapes downconverted and transfered). ANY tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.
