  • HD S.M.A.R.T. status question

i’m on a dual 2.7 G5, 4gb ram, 2x400gb HD. i repair disk permissions on every restart. i noticed a couple of months ago that my main hard drive was coming up “not supported” under S.M.A.R.T. status quite frequently, so i bought a new HD but intermittently it will say it’s verified or not supported (sometimes after i repair permissions, it will become verified). i once read in an article if it ever said that the S.M.A.R.T. status was not supported, problems were on the way, which is why i bought the new HD. sometimes it says it’s verified, sometimes it’s not supported. is this something i should be worried about? i believe the drive is a Maxtor drive (400gb)

    thanks
