[Shane Ross] “Meaning that Canadians are slow to respond? Or does your internet just SUCK up there? “
Don’t know about the internet, but I know they drink a TON of coffee up in Vancouver! 🙂 Woo I’m ready to move up there between the beauty of the place and the endless coffee houses.
The easy answer is get an AJA Kona 3 as long as you have a Mac Pro. As for editing, depending on the flavor of HD you’re cutting, you’ll want a nice media array. I use the MaxxDigital EVO HD series and Dulce, Sonnett, Ciprico and Facilis are other arrays I recommend.
For viewing, I love the new TV Logic LCD displays, expensive, but beautiful. We’ll hopefully be getting some in the near future after we build the new shop.
Shane’s suggestion to find a good VAR in your area is the best one as each person’s situation is unique. Having someone local to spec and then stand behind their gear will be invaluable.
