    Hey gang,

I output a sequence to a 720 59.94 tape this afternoon and then a get a call tonite from an edit assistant saying that the tape is missing audio in places and the AJHD 1400 is saying that it has lost servo for 3 seconds.
I output it thru a Kona LH HDSDI with my audio embedded. I did not have refernce running into the deck from the AJA….what is eveyone else doing when they go out HDSDI. We’ve done this in another suite with a KONA 3 and did not have any problems.

    Any takers??

    Thanks in advance

Might be bad tape stock. You don’t have to have reference when editing to tape but it can help with RS422 timing. Otherwise the deck should lock to the input HD SDI.

Were you monitoring back off the record deck? If so and you saw did not hear this dropout, then I would suspect ape stock.

You absolutely must have reference going to this deck and you should have reference feeding your Konas as well. They’re as little as $250 for a Horita Black Burst generator like the one we have feeding all our equipment.

Lack of Reference can lead to exactly the type of issue you’re describing. Go to Markertek.com or BHPhoto.com and order a Horita BB or an AJA Gen 10 generator.
