I know that the sequence setting doesn’t match the capture setting but i can only find 16:9 aspect and I do work on 4:3 .. I was asking about a plugin or something that can help

Use your Kona 2 control panel and set whatever output your are monitoring with to downconvert. For instance, if you are monitoring analog component, use the control panel to put a downconvert on the analog component output. Also, change the downconvert output option to ‘crop’. That way you’ll get a 4:3 center cut of your 1080i material. If you are working in SD only, then you should digitize the HD footage into and SD format, this will take up less space, require less rendering while editing, and generally move along a lot faster.

Well, how did you capture your footage? 1080i normal 16:9 aspect? Then go ahead and edit in the 16:9 timeline, but set your Kona 2 output for an SD Downconvert with a center cut (4:3) output. If you try to center cut your footage on the timeline, then yes, you will need to render every single clip.

If you’re only working in SD, then I would suggest capturing your footage natively at 10bit SD using the downconvert option on the Kona 2.
