    Hi all,

I have a senior project due May 10th, and shot in HD. I imported some files into AEs for a live action animation and when I’m done, I add to render que and change the lossless to Quicktime and best qualities and animation. When I open it up in either Quicktime or VLC…my final image is fine…but jerks around from place to place. What the hell did I do wrong? I’m pretty much ready to just go back to standard definition if I can’t figure out what the heck is going on. Please help!

[Michael Jurkowski] “jerks around from place to place.”

like the playback pauses as you are trying to play it back in the player then skips ahead in time?

if so, it is probably due to the data rate of the lossless file. to playback uncompressed hd you would need a very fast disk array (like an 8 drive raid0). my guess would be that the data rate of the file far exceeds the data rate of your drive… thus the pauses.

can you bring the clip back into ae and do a ram preview? does it play back in realtime? if so, try rendering that clip to a less-bandwidth-heavy codec like dvcprohd or hdv to see it play in realtime though your player.

how are you delivering the final (tape, dvd, blue-ray, just a file…)?
