  HD render test

  I decided to do a render test to see just how much faster my new computer build is compared to my previous machine…although I’m still running VEGAS PRO 8.0c until I can upgrade.

  Previous machine:
  Gigabyte socket 775 MB
  Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo 3.0 Ghz
  4 gig OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066
  Two Seagate 500g SATA II drives
  EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB
  Corsair 650W Enthusiast Series PS
  Win XP Home

  My new machine specs are listed in my signature below.

  I rendered the same 14 minute MPEG4 HD video clip (video only) from a flip camera on both machines with the same project and render settings on both machines.

  The clip on my old machine took 23:07 to render.
  The clip on my new machine took 8:08 to render.

  Just about one third the time. I’m happy with the results.
