Here’s my problem, When I render out video to .avi uncompressed, it is splitting my clips into multiple clips without me asking it to. If I go to render video.avi the files it renders is video.avi, video01.avi, video02.avi, etc. etc. Now I’ve just switched to a Canon t2i and My PC isnt’ the fastest, could that be the problem, It’s a P4 3ghz with 4 GB of Ram, but just a single core. I have never had this problem with Standard Definition. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is the drive you are rendering to formatted for FAT32 (most external hard drives are). FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB which would cause a render to be broken up into multiple files like that. Make sure that your render drive is formatted for NTFS.

That would probably be the issue, is that an easy fix? can i change that without formating everything on the drive? I appreciate the help

As long as there is enough free space on the drive, you can convert it. You will need to open a command prompt and issue the command:

    CONVERT X: /FS:NTFS /V
Where X: is the drive letter of the FAT32 drive. You should backup the drive first in case anything goes wrong in the conversion process just to be safe.
