Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy HD onto tape?

  • Posted by Adrian Kelaty on January 17, 2008 at 12:13 am

Hi there, I recently filmed a wedding as a 2-cam shoot on HD (1080). I want to be able to download the footage as SD, edit as SD, make the dvd as SD, but output the entire edited project back to tape as full res HD. I’m using a Dual Core MacPro with FCP 6.

    How would I do this?

If you capture the footage as SD, you will need to recapture the footage as HD to lay back to tape.

What you want to do is capture HD, edit HD, use Compressor to make your SD files for DVDSP directly from your HD edit, then you can simply layback your HD edit to tape.

No reason to go SD anywhere along the edit pipeline.
