in short, my Xraids say they’re doing about 220mbs which is ton and whenever I create a multi clip sequence it won’t play and causes an over all crash. It seems that it needs more drive speed. Has anyone done 1080i multi clip editing in FCP5? I’m using th Kona 2 by the way.

Umm… Yeah…. Not a great idea. I have been editing some HD 720p multi-cam for PBS, but I have run into bottle neck and processor issues after about 5 minutes with just two clips. I just created offline versions of my 4 camera shoot and edited in offlineRT then reconnected without a problem. See multi-cam must run each shot at speed and at 110 MB/s for 720P you can’t get away with it. 1080i is even more data, and if your using DVCPROHD you’ll have decompression overheads.

Offline it and you’ll be much happier.
