    Guys,
I just got in an HD Link Pro and hooked it up to test it.
I am using an HVX200 with an AJA A/D, fed to the HDSDI input of the HD Link Pro, with the DVI/HDMI output fed to my Panasonic projector. Control is via MacBook.

The unit worked out of the box; when i plugged my 720P60 source in, i had a picture on my projector; but everything went down hill from there.

I installed the 2.5.1 software and ran the utility app, which told me that i need to update the firmware, which i did and all seemed to complete ok. I powered the unit down and back up but had no comm with the utility app and no images.

I tried powering down for longer but no joy. I then noticed that the white light on the HD Link Pro went out and came back on periodically, then finally went out, so i suspected the power supply. I replaced it with the heftier one from my Multibridge and the light stayed on. I re-installed the software to an older version, then re-installed the new stuff, restarted the MacBook and now the units talk, or they seem to. I still have no pictures. I have reseated cables, cycled power on all the devices, but to no avail.

I suspect that the firmware update might have been corrupted. Is there a way to force the unit to do it again? It seems to be communicating with the utility app.

    Ideas?

I have an update to the first post.
Apparently, the power supply that came with the HD Link Pro cannot support it. With the Multibridge power supply, the HD Link Pro seems to work. I was able to get LUT corrected video from the SDI out spigot, which is what i was trying to get when i started this project.

I am still having problems with the HDMI output. It seemed to work fine before i updated the firmware but now it doesn’t talk to my projector.

Can anyone give me an update on what might have changed in the behavior of the DVI/HDMI port between the previous rev and this one, and what i should do to make it work? I notice that the EDID override switch in the prefs is no longer accessible.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

It’s possible that the power supply unit for the HDLink Pro is faulty so you should speak to your reseller about getting a replacement.

I don’t believe there’s any chance to the DVI/HDMI port behaviour but could you check if running the v2.5 driver and see if there’s a difference with the projector you’re using? BTW, what make/model is the projector?

If the utility application is active, it means that the hardware is detected so the firmware should be installed properly. If the firmware is corrupted, the utility application should not even see HDLink as being connected.

    regards

    Thanks for the response.
I am on the road so it will be next week before i can test it again.
    The projector is a Panasonic PT-AX200 1280 x 720.
