HD footage with the Io
First off I’m somewhat green on the hardware needed for FCP Studio (I have mostly an AVID background), so please forgive me if this has an obvious answer. We purchased a new Mac last year to run FCP Studio and to my knowledge the AJA Io from the old system is being used on the new one.
Nearly all of our video is P2 media from the HVX camera, in fact we don’t even own an HD deck.
If in the future we do need to capture from or output to an HD deck will our current Io be able to do this? If not is the Kona 3 the best option for full HD capability?

A Kona card or the ioHD will work in your situation.

G5 I believe. I’ll check for sure when I get back on Wednesday.

The ioHD requires a macPro. A Kona3X will work.
