    Honestly, I would work in HD until export, but that’s if you have room and processing capabilities. That will unsure that any effects and color correction are applied at the highest level. You also don’t have to worry about scaling down.

    Otherwise, you simply create a widescreen DV project, and then you have a couple of options:

    If all you are importing is footage, you can enable “scale to frame size” in your preferences, and all the HD footage will be resized to your widescreen project upon import. The problem is that any images you import will be scaled down and lose quality if you need to do pan and zooms afterward.

    If that’s the case, just select the clips once in the timeline and right click ” scale to frame size” there instead of enabling in it your preferences.
