    Hello Cow Forum,

I am currently finalizing my first short film.

My question is about my next step with Compressor and exporting for DVD Studio Pro.

There are so many settings and what not with Compressor, I basically just want the best possible quality.

So info this world will probably need to know.

First my sequence and shooting information.

I shot the short on a Canon XHA1 and imported into my system using the Apple ProRes 422 compressor.

    My sequence settings are:

    1440×1080 (16:9)
    Apple ProRes 422
    48khz
    16bit

THe length of my piece is almost exactly 60 mins.

So please forgive naiveness of my question but can I just go File>Export to Compressor and pick best quality 60 mins as is listed as one of the presets in compressor? Then just go straight into DVD Studio Pro?

    Please advise.

    I love this forum.

    Thank you in advance.

YUP EXACTLY, if you have any more questions there have been a ton of posts about this on this forum and the DVD SP forum, a search will bring up a lot of info.

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!

Yes, you could encode directly a file for DVD. However, think about other needs you might have.
You may be asked to provide an h.264 or flash file for a website. I usually (especially if the project is long) make a master file and then I can use that for multiple purposes. And that also gives you the ability to off-load the encoding work to another computer.
