I’m trying to create a HD movie that I can import into Flash. For HD, Flash support either the .mp4 file format or the .mov format.

Since I don’t seem to have the .mp4 option in my Export Settings, I went with .mov. I used these settings:

    General
    File type: Quicktime
    Export Video
    Export Audio

    Video
    Compressor: H.264
    Frame Size: 1280×720
    Pixel Ratio: Square Pixels
    Quality: 100%

    Audio
Audio: Uncompressed (only one I have)
    Sample Rate: 48000
    Sample Type: 16-bit
    Channel: Stereo

It renders fine (a little loss in quality, but no big deal) and when I play it in QuickTime, it runs wonderfully, the sound is there.
When I load it into flash however, I don’t get any sound.

This article has been a big help, but I’m just not able to wrap my head around it… I think I might need the AAC codec, but have no idea where to get it from.

    Kind regards,
    Pieter

General notice: from now on, I would like to ask everyone to put [AS2] or [AS3] (corresponding to the version of actionscript you are using on your project) in front of their post titles when the question is actionscript related! Please help us help you faster. Thank you.

    Use Export>Adobe Media Encoder…

This will open up the export presets for mp4, h.264 and the aac audio format. Flash Video too.

Going to Export>Movie is not really used anymore as AME has it all and more.

Hehe, is my face red! 🙂 I’m a Flash Developer usually, so forgive me for my unknowingness! But thank you tons for pointing me in the right direction!

I’m trying it out right now and it looks good… AAC and .mp4, just what I wanted.

    Kind regards,
    Pieter
