  • HD editing with Black Magic Intensity Pro?

Is it possible to edit HD footage in Premiere CS3 and see the footage playback in real time on an external monitor?

We just upgraded our Windows XP system. It now has an Intel Core 2 Dual 3ghz processor and 2gig of RAM. The Black Magic Intensity Pro card allows us to output video our HD monitor.

For Black Magic standard definition projects, this works fine. For our HD projects, we can only get the video to play for about 1 second before it hangs, even after we render the files on the Premiere timeline.

    Any ideas?

Are you using a version of their recommended Mobos???

By Mobo, do you mean motherboard?

The motherboard is an Asus P5K-SE, Socket 775.

We were assured by the one who built the computer that we’d have enough power to make the Black Magic work.

Its not so much the power, recommended boards are usually based on chipsets, I don’t know how tight the requirements are, thats something to take up with BMD, when you say HD do you mean uncompressed HD or HDV? if uncompressed HD you need at least a SATA II raid0 or better.
