HD edited in SD – I want to go back!
I mistakenly edited my HD 24 fps footage in SD 29.9fps. I want to return this picture to its rightful native glory in HD!
The picture’s gotta be locked, cause my sound sweetening and soundtrack is done.
When I create a new project (in the appropriate, native file format) and cut and paste my old sequence into that project, clips get nudged hither and yon. some files get corrupted (black, or herky jerky) and it’s real hard to keep the picture on the same timeline because it was 29.9 and now it’s 24.I think the new hd sequence is corrupted because its adjusting for the fps differential between the old sequence editing timebase 29.9 and the new one 23.9 – so things are getting jostled.
More specifically, I’m not sure if the new sequence is boogered because it’s pointing to old media files that were brought in at 29.9 or because it’s a sequence that was made in 29.9 and now it has to adjust since it’s being asked to fit into 23.9.
Anyone know a way to get my sequence in the new HD timebase to point at the native 23.9 source files (rather than at the old files in the SD timbase?)
When I reconnect or repoint the media to the source files, they are greyed out. Also, If I cut and paste HDp24, and set timebase at 29.9, do I lose any (much) quality since the timebase is not in the native 23.9?
Thanks!
