HD dvc Pro after getting final cut X (will that codec play on quicktime 7)?

I know…FCP 7 only works with QT files…it doesn’t edit MXF native unless you have a plugin. Just saying that if the files were converted to QT using FCP…those files can ONLY be seen on systems with FCP installed. Thus the reason to keep the original P2 card (ANY tapeless media) backups…because FCP 7 is not gone…so reading those files is tricky.

If you have the original P2 cards, you can re-import into your current NLE.
