HD-DNXCEL Board
We are trying to get another year or two out of our AVID Adrenaline systems while we wait to see if AVID ever revises their I/O offerings to be competitive with the rest of the industry.
We are moving to 100% P2 based shooting with very limited HD tape output, but will likely use XDCAM drive. We will hold onto our Digi-Beta for SD output. We have newest AVID Composer software on both systems and new HP work-stations.
Here is my question: I am seeing the AVID HD-DNXCEL boards at cheap prices. Are there any reasons why in a P2 world why we can’t use these boards for monitoring ? Since most of our output will be file based to XDCAM, is not the I/O and processing of the DNXCEL a non-issue ?

You can monitor HD…there are limitations.
depending on the codec you are working in you may not be able to monitor HD in full quality.
