April 26, 2007 at 1:12 amNo, you have to have them made. I have two now, one that is the original length with BNC on the end, and another that is just 12″ long with BNC. I use that one the most to connect the onboard Marshall monitor. One of the big problems I had with the long cable was just the weight of it hanging off the monitor, that would eventually cause a break in the cable just behind one of the BNC connectors.

April 26, 2007 at 3:03 amYes I was lookign for a smaller one as well. I just bought a Marshall monitor and am looking for a smaller one and also as a backup just in case. Did you make it yourself or did some one else do it?
Thanks!

April 26, 2007 at 4:15 pmFYI, the HVX’s cable is compatible with the one that’s used by the Canon XHA1 and XHG1 and XLH1 and the JVC HD1 and HD10, so if you find the kind of cable you want being offered for any of those then you can also use it on your HVX.

April 26, 2007 at 9:12 pmI used the cable that came with the camera and had the BNC’s crimped onto it at Studio Exchange here in LA. The smaller cable was constructed of a full length one that we cut down and added the BNC’s that was also done at Studio Exchange. I would have done it myself but I don’t have the crimpers for that size of cable. The full length cable came from B&H in New York about $40 if I remember correctly, and as Barry stated it was a canon cable.

April 26, 2007 at 11:31 pmWhat is wrong with HD component to RCA? I have a RCA to BNC to my monitor and it looks fine. I see plenty of HD to RCA on bhphotovideo… but no HD to BNC..
Is RCA inferior?
Thanks..

April 26, 2007 at 11:45 pmNot at all. My monitor is BNC and the adaptors constantly pop out. BNC is made to not come apart unless you are really trying. As far as signal quality, there’s no discernible difference.
