I just received a bunch of Canon 7D video footage that my client wants me to cut into a HD video that I’m editing on Final Cut Pro. It looks terrible. Lots of video noise. In QuickTime the Canon 7D clips play back very jerky and Final Cut doesn’t like it at all. Do I need a 7D codex or plug-in for it to work in Final Cut Pro? Please advise.

Please search “7D” in this forum for the TONS of answers that exist.

Convert to ProRes….FCP doesn’t work well with H.264 files that the camera shoots.

There is a plugin called the EOS LOG AND TRANSFER PLUGIN to allow FCP to import and convert. Google that to find it.
