Okay this is a continuation of an earlier question…. 93 minute Indy film 720P 23.98…..ProRes…… Gotta go to tape.
I used to be a man about town, who had used every format between Quad and Digi Beta… Since 2005, I have used only DV, HDV, and sprinkling of Beta SP. Since January 2009 it’s been 98% tapeless for me. P2 HD and AVCHD. I have never used a HD tape format other than HDV, and I really don’t think HDV is the best for my film.
With the understanding that I am of course going to keep raw footage and FCP movies of the final product, and that I will have to rent whatever format I go to tape with (except HDV, I have one of those) what should I do?. Can anybody point to a website that gives me the pros and cons of the different HD tape and Disk formats, or can you spell them out here. It seems to me that DVCProHD would be the low end of the scale and that D-5 HD and HDCam SR are the high end…….
    Help!

What do you need to deliver? Is it to broadcasters, distributors, cinema?

Bog standard for me is to deliver an HDCam in 1080. Some broadcasters will take HDCam SR and some DVCPro100HD. I suspect it will be a flavour of HDCam certainly not HDV.
