    Hello,

I have a question, I have Adobe Premiere pro cs3 and cs4. I am going to be doing an online, the online edit EDL I was given has about 3 tapes, each tape has a reel number 01, 02, 03.

When I load the EDL it shows a clip name in the project browser for example

    “mycapture_walk_to_door.avi”
    In 00:01:23:
    Out: 00:01:05:10
    Tape reel:001

If I have done a complete uncompressed HD capture of the entire tape, (1 Capture for the entire tape) is there anyway to do a automatic conform so all the shots in the edit link to the timecodes and reel names?

At the moment I am match framing in Premeire pro each cut, and then copy/pasting the in and out timecodes of that clip then going to my master full res HD clip and makring the in and out, then dropping that into where that should should be onthe timeline.

If there is an automatic way to link all the cuts on the timeline, to those specific time-codes and reel numbers that would be really useful and save so much time.

    Thanks,

    Leo

The usual online process is to take the edited EDL and recapture with a batch capture of the clips that were used in the edit only. So I’d recommend you select all the clips in the project panel and try to batch capture them all , that way they are going to reconnect everything automatically.

    Hello Jon,

Thats what I would of done, but they needed all the footage as it was 2 music videos and the 2nd has not be edited. So all the edited tapes were captured from beginning to end.

I matched framed the DV offline edit, and to the full res, it took a bit of time though but it worked in the end. Thanks for the pointers it’s much appreciated.

a new video comfroming service was launch in the last week on editboost.com..
The system give the ability to “compare” be between video content and produce an EDL.
    The services is free
