HD animation compression for web
Okay….
So I shot my original footage on 16mm and had it transferred to HD. This came back to me as a PRO RES HQ file. I changed sequence settings to match the footage and went on my way editing. I slowed down the footage quite a bit and worked with AE on some of it, but that’s not the problem. When I finished I exported out to a pro res HQ file once more and then, for web purposes re-exported it to H.264. The video looks pretty bad, mainly the slowed down footage has a lot of trails. So i took the first export brought it back into FCP and de-interlaced it and re-exported this as a pro res file. It looks fine, but once again when I attempt to compress this file the footage looks like trails. Should I be using an animation codec somewhere in here? I’ve attempted this process several times and I’m getting crazy in the head with it.
